Artist's Comments
I have always loved snakes, even more than any mammal or reptile (maybe even more than cats). I remember when I was a kid and wished so badly I could have one or be one.
ref.: [link] As always in my photograph-referenced drawings, this is "traced", but the light in the living room wasn't the best, so I had to almost guess some parts, that's why the shape of the scales is irregular. I tried to color it imitating the lighting and shading of the photo, which was terrible difficult and failed at it. Critiques are most welcome, but please, before giving critique, have in consideration the work on the scales, it's not easy. 0.5. 0.7 lead pencils and ink pen, 6 non-stop hours approx. |

Critiques
Structure of textures looks amazing, really reminds soft scales with low deformation while growing.
So ..i dont care about if it what you draw is really same like on the ref, its better to do it in your way and train and learn you need instead forcing yourself to completly copy something, you gave it its own life. Artists are gods, they are giving life to their pictures. If they can awake it to live, it means they know what they do, and they do it for themselves.
I can see it, how it moves.
